As a first-time homebuyer, I honestly don’t think I could have made this happen without Wei Tang and his processor Gloria Bresnan. This loan was not easy — it had twists, delays, and even a point where we were close to the finish line, then the deal fell apart and we had to step back, regroup, and start again. But Wei and Gloria stayed professional, patient, and incredibly responsible the entire time. What really sets Wei apart is that he didn’t just show up when I was “ready to buy.” He has been helping me for about three years, from early qualification and planning, to navigating the CalHFA assistance process, the waiting list, and the lottery/selection steps — all the way through getting into contract, exiting, re-entering, and finally closing today. The biggest reason I’m now a homeowner is because Wei kept monitoring the program progress and kept me updated. My waiting list number was far back, and I assumed I had no chance, so I stopped paying attention. Wei continued to track it and notified me right away when my turn came — that timing made everything possible. Through the CalHFA government assistance program, I was able to buy with a very small down payment, and I received about $150,000 in state assistance, which is the only way I could afford this home.
