About Steven Mack
I was born and raised in Michigan, but adventure has taken me all over the country. I’ve lived in six states—including California, Hawaii, and Florida—and I’m happiest when I’m traveling, spending time outside, or somewhere near the beach and water. These days, I call Fort Myers home, along with my Chihuahua mix, who my mom found abandoned on a bridge, and my tuxedo cat, who was rescued from inside a Redbox in Tucson. Clearly, rescue stories have a way of finding me.
My passion for real estate started in the 2000s, watching Million Dollar Listing with my mom on our brand-new flat-screen TV. That interest eventually led me to become a licensed real estate agent at just 18 years old. Working as an agent gave me firsthand experience with the entire homebuying process—and showed me how much the right lender can affect a transaction.
I struggled to find a lending partner who could truly do it all: provide excellent service, use great technology, communicate reliably, handle complicated scenarios, and still offer clients highly competitive pricing. That experience ultimately inspired me to become the kind of mortgage professional I had always wanted in my clients’ corner.
The road that brought me here wasn’t exactly a straight one. I eventually left the West Coast in search of a slower pace and a more affordable life back in Michigan. But after discovering that my Michigan house needed quite a bit of work—and that travel-trailer living gets awfully cold there—I headed south to explore. A friend from Hawaii invited me to visit Fort Myers, and Florida quickly began to feel like home.
At the time, I was working remotely in a leadership role at Allstate Corporate. Although it looked like a good career on paper, the work was stressful, and I didn’t feel as though I was doing what was right for me—or making the kind of difference I wanted to make. I eventually took a leap, left the corporate world, and built a successful dog-care business here in Fort Myers. That experience taught me even more about responsibility, entrepreneurship, trust, and what it means to personally care for the people—and pets—who depend on you.
I also began building my career as an independent mortgage professional with Loan Factory. I’m experienced, but casual. I take the work seriously without making the experience stuffy or intimidating. Most importantly, I’m passionate about doing the right thing and giving my clients honest guidance—even when the best answer isn’t necessarily the easiest one.
